New Program Manager Announcement

MAWA is excited to announce our newest member to our team: Melissa Church.

Melissa was hired as Program Manager to lead MAWA’s continuing abandoned

mine remediation efforts, develop our watershed stewardship program and

manage other strategic programs.

Melissa brings a depth and breadth of knowledge from her experience leading

conservation organizations in the Pittsburgh area and a 20+ year-career in

international trade. She looks forward to transferring her expertise to her work in

the Murrysville area. As a testament to her natural fit at MAWA, Melissa has hit the

ground running on development of MAWA’s White Valley Active Treatment Plant

(ATP) grant and the Lyons Run Acid Mine Drainage (AMD) remediation site.

A lifelong Pittsburgher and graduate of the University of Pittsburgh, in her free

time, Melissa enjoys spending time in her garden with her Coonhound, Mabel and

mastering Wordle in three guesses or fewer.
