Through continuous water quality monitoring, collaborative efforts with property owners, and strategic programs to establish riparian buffers, MAWA mitigates environmental impact and promotes informed community engagement.

Murrysville Area Watershed Association Receives $70,000 Grant

MAWA received a $70,000 grant from the Richard King Mellon Foundation to improve water quality monitoring, expand environmental education, and boost community engagement. Establish a process to work with property owners to secure property access to further the goals of the organization to monitor and improve the quality of water in the targeted watersheds.

Develop assets to further the improvement of the quality of water in the Murrysville Area Watersheds by constructing active and passive acid mine remediation facilities to improve the water quality of streams.
